The decision to stand down hundreds of workers at the Tahmoor coal mine is deeply disappointing and will have serious consequences for the workers, families and small businesses who depend on the mine.

The Coalition extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the Australian Army soldier who tragically passed away following a training incident near the Townsville Field Training Area.

A total of 25 organisations have been awarded grants under the Australian Government’s 2024-25 Volunteer Grants Program.

$10 million dollars was made available to 151 electorates, with more than $66,000 of that allocated to the electorate of Hume.
