$1.2 million black spot funding for Goulburn Mulwaree

Thursday, 12 March 2020

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced over $1.2 million in roads funding for Goulburn Mulwaree under the Federal Government’s Blackspot Program.

Mr Taylor said he was pleased to see two notorious black spots in Goulburn Mulwaree receive this funding for safety upgrades.

“A section of Taralga Road near Pontilla Lane will receive $804,403 to upgrade the road and install safety features, as well as $403,245 to install a single lane roundabout in town at the intersection of Bourke and Addison Streets,” Mr Taylor said.

“Community input has been critical to identifying these black spots.”

“None of these projects would be delivered without community feedback and I encourage all residents and motorists in the region to nominate projects for future funding rounds.”

A total of three black spots in Hume received funding under this round. Along with the two projects in Goulburn, $80,900 will be used to install pedestrian fencing at Bronzewing St in Tahmoor.

The Federal Liberal and Nationals Government has committed $1 billion to the Black Spot Program from 2013–14 to 2022–23 to improve road safety across the nation.
