ANZAC Day dedication

Thursday, 25 April 2019

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor will attend the Dawn Service at Goulburn’s Belmore Park, one of dozens of commemorative services across Hume. Mr Taylor will also join Camden’s commemorative march and deliver an ANZAC dedication at Camden’s Bicentennial Equestrian Park.

AT THIS HOUR, ON THIS DAY, ANZAC RECEIVED ITS BAPTISM OF FIRE AND BECAME ONE OF THE IMMORTAL NAMES IN HISTORY.

WE WHO ARE GATHERED HERE THINK OF COMRADES WHO WENT OUT TO THE BATTLEFIELDS OF ALL WARS – BUT DID NOT RETURN.

WE FEEL THEM STILL NEAR US IN SPIRIT.

WE WISH TO BE WORTHY OF THEIR GREAT SACRIFICE.

LET US, THEREFORE, ONCE MORE DEDICATE OURSELVES TO THE IDEALS FOR WHICH THEY DIED.

AS DAWN PIERCES THE NIGHT, SO LET THEIR MEMORY INSPIRE US TO WORK FOR THE COMING NEW LIGHT INTO THE DARK PLACES OF THE WORLD.
