Coalition will prioritise more infrastructure for Wingecarribee

Angus Taylor says Wingecarribee will continue to receive major Federal infrastructure backing if the Coalition is returned to government.

“Our record of delivery is strong,” Mr Taylor said.

“The Coalition is investing billions of dollars in infrastructure projects in Hume to boost the local economy and improve the communities where we live and work. 

“The $512,000 Bundanoon Creek Bridge upgrade on Meryla Road is one of the next items to be delivered.”

Federal funding for local infrastructure

  • Roads to Recovery program - $12 million in total through the forward estimates

Wingecarribee LGA $7.46 million (2014-15 to 2018-19)

Wingecarribee LGA $4.74 mill (2019-20 to 2023-24)  Including

  • Upgrade of the bridge deck over Bundanoon Creek on Meryla Road                   $512,955
  • Narellan Road at Moss Vale, sealing, kerb and guttering and a new parking lane  $270,000
  • Tugalong Road at Canyonleigh – reshaping pavement and improving table drains $200,000

Financial Assistance Grant funding for Wingecarribee

  • $23,864,334 from 2014-15 to 2018-19.

NBN rollout     

Hume is well progressed - 93% of the electorate is ready to connect – or 69,050 premises can order an NBN service. Fixed wireless NBN towers have been switched on at Bundanoon North, Wingello, Exeter, Balmoral West, Hill Top South and at Marulan.

Estimated over $73 million for nbn rollout in Wingecarribee area.  

NBN towers in the planning at Tallong South, Paddys River and Moss Vale.

Mobile Black Spot Program

  • 17 mobile base stations for Hume
  • The Govt is pushing for the building of a new Telstra mobile phone tower at Bundanoon and the upgrading of the existing NBN tower at Exeter with Optus mobile phone infrastructure.
