Flood disaster assistance extended to Goulburn Mulwaree

Monday, 14 March 2022

After last week's flooding, disaster assistance is now available in 12 additional Local Government Areas (LGAs) across NSW, including Goulburn Mulwaree.

Assistance is provided through the jointly-funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said the impacts continue to be assessed, and we will work together to ensure all impacted local government areas receive the recovery support they need.

"This assistance will help ensure Goulburn Mulwaree Council and individuals impacted by last week's flood event receive the support they need," Mr Taylor said.

Assistance available under the DRFA may include:

1.      Help for eligible people whose homes or belongings have been damaged (eligibility criteria apply)

2.      Support for affected local councils to help with the costs of cleaning up and restoring damaged essential public assets

3.      Financial assistance for primary producers, small businesses and non-profit organisations, and

4.      Freight subsidies for primary producers.
