Free tax help at Goulburn Electorate office

Thursday, 04 September 2014

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has reminded residents of the free tax help available in his Goulburn electorate office.

Mr Taylor said the service was being provided by volunteer David Fuller, who had five years’ experience volunteering for the ATO (Australian Taxation Office).

“This service is offered to everyone, free of charge, no matter where they live,” Mr Taylor said.

Mr Fuller said many people were unsure about how to complete a tax return.

“I started volunteering with this service so I could help others understand tax, which can be a complicated process if you don’t know what to do.”

Mr Fuller said the assistance was available for individuals or families with an annual family income of approximately $50,000 or less.

He said the service was primarily aimed at individuals and families and did not cover tax matters relating to business or rental income.

Appointments are available between 10am and 3pm every Monday until (and including) Monday 27 October 2014. Please contact Angus Taylor’s Goulburn Electorate Office on (02) 4822 2277 to make an appointment.
