Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has announced Gunning AP&H society will receive funding under the Federal Government’s $20 million Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants program.

Mr Taylor said the Gunning AP&H Society will receive $108,792 to upgrade show facilities at the Gunning Showground.

“The show committee put together a fantastic application and I’m pleased to hear that Gunning will be able to make improvements to its annual show,” Mr Taylor said.

The funding will be used to replace and add seating to the shearing shed at the Gunning Showground, widen the shearing board, cover the penning area and erect a safe yarding system. The show society also plan to install a public address system and resurface the camp draft arena.

“Agricultural shows are the heart of many regional communities and we want them to continue to thrive and showcase the best of our region,” Mr Taylor said.

“This grant will help make the Gunning Show bigger and better than ever and draw more people to the next show in February 2021.”

Across Australia 122 regional agricultural show societies will share in $20 million under the Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants program to build new infrastructure on show grounds.
