Funding secured for fixed wireless upgrade at Bullio and Canyonleigh

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor has welcomed confirmation by the Albanese Government that the delivery of Round 2 of the Coalition’s Regional Connectivity Program (RCP) will go ahead after a delay of nearly five months.

“This investment in communications infrastructure at Bullio and Canyonleigh, which the Coalition announced before the Federal Election, is a game changer for telecommunications in these areas and builds on the Coalition’s extensive investment in broadband and mobile connectivity in the regions,” Mr Taylor said.

“Both of these upgrades will be delivered by Ace Internet Services, based in Bowral, and will mean residents, businesses, and visitors will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of improved mobile and internet connectivity in the Bullio and Canyonleigh area.

The projects include:

  • $26,000 to upgrade the fixed wireless network in the Bullio area of the Southern Highlands, maximising the existing network and ensuring greater reliability and capacity.
  • $58,000 to upgrade the fixed wireless network and its corresponding backhaul along Tuggalong Road in the Canyonleigh area of the Southern Highlands, maximising the existing network and ensuring greater reliability and capacity.

“Given the Coalition announced these projects before the election as decisions of government, it should not have taken Labor nearly five months to confirm their delivery. This is yet another example of Labor failing to prioritise regional communities,” Mr Taylor said.
