Wednesday, 11 August 2021

Two GP clinics in Goulburn have begun administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine this week.

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said there were now six GP clinics in Goulburn delivering the AstraZenca vaccine, two of which now were also delivering Pfizer.

“Goulburn Medical Clinic and Marima Medical Centre have begun administering the Pfizer vaccine to those eligible this week which is great news for the community,” Mr Taylor said.

“We are also seeing hundreds of local pharmacies across the state participating in the rollout, Marulan Pharmacy has been approved to deliver the AstraZeneca vaccine.

“And from next Monday we will see more local pharmacies delivering AstraZeneca in the Southern Highlands including Capital Chemist Bowral, Blooms Mittagong, Clayton’s Pharmacy Bowral and Priceline Pharmacy Mittagong.

“Pharmacies who have not yet expressed interest will also be offered the opportunity to participate, as well as any GPs that are not yet participating in the rollout.”

The National COVID Vaccine Taskforce continues to work with state and territory Governments to accelerate the vaccination program and ensure the nation has broad coverage of primary care sites across the country who are delivering the COVID-19 vaccine.

In addition, community pharmacies will also participate in the rollout of the Moderna vaccine from September.

Further information on the pharmacy rollout will be made available through the Department of Health.
