MYEFO provides additional $4 million for Appin Road

Thursday, 16 December 2021

The Federal Government’s 2021/22 Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) will provide an additional funding commitment of $4 million for upgrades to Appin Road.

Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor welcomed today’s announcement, which will take the Coalition’s investment in the Appin Road project to $72 million.

“This investment will be on top of the $68 million already announced for the Appin Road project, which will see road upgrades between Brian Road and Mount Gilead,” Mr Taylor said.

“The additional funding will deliver a U-turn Bay, median widening, and median barrier works to improve road safety, reduce travel times, and improve traffic flow.

“Not only will these improvements to Appin Road benefit the thousands of people travelling this road daily, but it also means the creation of around 121 local jobs and saving and creating jobs is a top economic priority right now.”

The main project will begin construction early next year and is expected to be completed by mid-2024.

The Australian Government looks forward to working constructively with the New South Wales Government to deliver this infrastructure, supporting jobs and businesses right across New South Wales.
