More than $140,000 in grants have been allocated to two independent cinemas in Hume, as part of the Morrison Government’s $20 million Supporting Cinemas’ Retention Endurance and Enhancement of Neighbourhoods (SCREEN) Fund.    

Camden, Wollondilly, and Wingecarribee local government areas will benefit from a $200 million recovery funding package to support communities affected by the February and March 2021 storms and floods. 

The Federal Government has today released guidelines for the $280 million Black Summer Bushfire Recovery (BSBR) grants program, providing funding direct to communities to help in their ongoing recovery after the 2019-20 bushfires.

The bushfire impacted Wollondilly region will receive a critical boost to their recovery from four local projects to be delivered through Stage Two of the Bushfire Local Economic Recovery Fund, co-funded by the Australian and NSW Governments.

The Southern Tablelands Chapter of the Veterans Motorcycle Club (VMC) will receive a share of $2.4 million worth of funding under the Veteran and Community Grants Program.

Two hotels in Goulburn are receiving support from the Federal Government to cut their energy costs.

Through the $10.2 million Hotel Energy Uplift Program Mandelson’s of Goulburn and Goulburn Heritage Motor Inn have received grants to help lower their energy bills.

Veterans and their families are being encouraged to get moving and increase their physical activity, with $200,000 in funding available nationally to assist community groups and ex-service organisations with planning and hosting Veterans’ Health Week events in October 2021. 

As part of Men’s Health Week, the Australian Government is encouraging Men’s Sheds across Hume to apply for funding as part of the newest round of the National Men’s Shed Development Programme (NDSP).

The Federal Government has approved funding for 25 projects in Camden, investing over $4.4 million as part of its $2.5 billion Local Road and Community Infrastructure Program, supporting local jobs, businesses and boosting the economy.
